I have switched from being a republican to the libertarian party. I am donating money today. They are the largest 3rd party option, and actually stand on strong "old fashion conservative positions". GO BOB BARR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and GO RON PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike Gifford

Melissa Bean from IL got it WRONG again! Obviously she will NOT GET MY VOTE and I will remember. As many of you have stated, this is a very sad day for our nation which has been a beacon of light to the downtrodden. A symbol of hope in a depressed world. An ensign to the nations of what we all yearn for--peace, prosperity and freedom to be. I fear that today marks a stark change from our distinguised past of excellence and a dive into the dregs of socialism. My fellow Americans, let us not forget this day. Take up the fight in our own communities to fight for good, honest people who love this country and will stand up for the values and principles that built this nation. It can once again be "We the People" but not without a fight.

This is disgusting. I have not met one person in the Chicago area that supported this bill. Not one. Jan Schakowsky will not be re-elected.

October 3, 2008 at 5:11 pm

Well at least our lone Congressman voted No on this bill. He will get my support on election day. As for the rest of the spineless politicians it is time to start voting them out. This bailout is nothing more than a cover up over the corruption and money these yahoos have been taking from Wall Street. It is time we start electing people that don't have decades of experience fleecing the citizens of this country. I had to agree with Barry Goldwater Jr. when he commented on Pelosi, Reid and Frank. He called them Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest.

October 3, 2008 at 5:17 pm

Lisa Wicks

Thank you to my representative, Tom Latham, from Iowa!!!!!! Thank God he had the toughness to stand up to the others today!!! He has my full support!!! And, way to go Steve King, another representative from Iowa!!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 5:25 pm

Chris in AZ

Giffords (D-AZ) voted “Nay” on Tuesday, but “Yea” today? My vote AGAINST her won't change! Providing they don't decide to suspend our voting rights since they don't listen to us anyway. And Nancy says Barney is going to hold hearings.... Sounds to me like O.J. looking for the real killers.

October 3, 2008 at 5:30 pm

Rhonda B. (Riverside, California)

Printed and taped to my desk…Can’t wait til election time…..Ron Paul you just gained 3 votes in our home. KEN CALVERT-R of Riverside California….You’re DONE…you ESPECIALLY should know better…Take a walk through the Orangecrest area….home after home after home in foreclosure……This bill does NOTHING for the homeowners who bought there and are barely hanging on…paying for a house that has lost 75% of it’s value!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 5:40 pm

Remember those that voted "no" were not intersted in helping the little guy. Representatives like Feeney, Keller and Senator Nelson were did not even understand the contents of the bill. They were still quoted as saying congress was giving money to wall street. No, the goverment was buying assets. Much like and investment. That is not like when the goverment lets some people receive benefits without paying taxes. Now that is a giving away tax dollars. That would be the 100 million households biden says need more of a break. Give me a break. I would love to receive so much for so little. But then again I beleive in paying my share (but only my share).

October 3, 2008 at 5:46 pm

I'm ashamed of the one senator and all the House members in South Carolina for voting Yes. The constituents will have there vote as well.

October 3, 2008 at 6:13 pm

Goodbye Brady - My hard earned money just went down to the Gulf of Mexico My husband and I work hard everyday. We have supported 4 children through College. My husband and I do not ask for hand outs. We just went through Hurrican IKE and had damaged to our property and our home. We didn't ask FEMA for help. Look at what a mess they are and they do start with "FEDERAL". This makes me sick. We are in the process of cleaning and fixing our home (which is paid for). We filed with insurance but only the Good Lord knows when we will see a penny from them. I hope the "FEDS" will go after the CEO's that made millions for the mistakes they made. Where was SOX. You have other companies spending millions on SOX - What happened to the banks??? I am mad at WASHINGTON.. Everyone needs to be replaced. Yea Palin she is the only one I believe now. What a breath of fresh air....

October 3, 2008 at 6:15 pm

Dont be fooled. Many Democratic reps were allowed to vote "no" by their leadership if they are in tightly contested districts, such as ours in Pennsylvania. Mr.Carney, the Democratic incumbent would surely have voted yes in a normal situation, but he is in a tight race in a predominantly Republican district.

October 3, 2008 at 6:28 pm

people need to think beyond there own house when commenting on world wide issues. If you take no action you may have a house but you may be speaking nose to nose with al-queda if the country goes down the tube due to inaction.

October 3, 2008 at 6:30 pm

John Harris

My represenative Conaway voted yes, he will not be getting my vote. So much for representation of the people.

October 3, 2008 at 6:39 pm

Steve Nelson

My congressman and Senator voted no and I will vote for and support both gladly.

October 3, 2008 at 6:48 pm

Hank Whitelock

My two senators (Enzi and Barrasso) voted to oppose the bill, and as such I can still vote for them. My "Representative" (Cubin) voted to support the bill TWICE so She is TWICE an oath-breaker! on only ONE issue! The same can be said for The D and R presidential candidates (and anyone who voted to support the 850 billion bailout bill) THEY ARE ALL OATH-BREAKERS! ! ! ! ! They swore an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the constitution, and then they perjure themselves in such a shameless manner!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I was going to hold my nose and vote for McCain, but I cannot vote for an oath-breaker, so I will be voting for Chuck Baldwin (Constitution Party)

October 3, 2008 at 6:57 pm

Thank you Cliff Stearns, Rep. of Florida, for voting No! You will have our vote in November.

October 3, 2008 at 7:00 pm

Trevor James

Throw the bums out! ALL of them. We need term limit 8 years max no more than two terms. Our founders never would have thought about making a life in politics. Yes they did what they were called to and set a course for our great country and several served more than one post but wow, how is it that we keep voting these do nothing bitter people back into office? Get rid of em and help us save our country before we become the peoples republic of...AMERIKA

October 3, 2008 at 7:09 pm

Kama Medders

I am absolutely furious with Arkansas Congressman Vic Snyder for voting yes to this bailout. I called his office in Little Rock and Washington to inform them that I would be voting against him in November and found out that he is going to be running unopposed. Now what!? We're stuck with him?! Is it too late for me to run?

October 3, 2008 at 7:16 pm

So much for common sense. I called my congressman, Pat Tiberi [R-OH] this morning to express my concerns about this unbelievable piece of legislation being passed. His own web site said this morning that he felt we could do much better than this "revised" (read: porked out) bill. He should have listened to Kucinich last night - the sky isn't going to fall in the 2-3 weeks it would take to write a reasonable bill. Well, Pat voted "Yay" anyway and he has absolutely lost my vote...

October 3, 2008 at 7:21 pm

I haven't spoken with one person who has supported this bill, NOT ONE, fortunately Representative Kaptur here in Ohio voted the way the people she represents wanted her to vote, hence the term "representative". Senator Brown from Ohio has spoken out of both sides of his mouth!

October 3, 2008 at 7:32 pm

Vero Beach

I sent an e-mail to my Representative Dave Weldon and Senator Mel Martinez and informed them that if they support the current bailout bill I will not support them anymore. I strongly believe in the Common Sense fix as an alternative option. I will honor my word and vote NO for them. Thank you Bill Nelson for your NO!!

October 3, 2008 at 7:38 pm

MyHomeIsOK

All of us who were betrayed by our "representatives" in the House today need to start looking for a new party. There appear to be only socialists and wannabes remaining in Washington. I have special comtempt for all those "conservatives" who just couldn't bring themselves to believe that freedom and free markets work. WE WILL REMEMBER!! HAIL TO FREEDOM!! HAIL TO THE FREE!!

October 3, 2008 at 7:52 pm

ROBERT ADERHOLT LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE HE REPRESENTS AND VOTED NO SO I WILL VOTE YES FOR HIM AS FOR THE OTHER SOB'S YOU CAN COUNT ON MY VOTE WHEN HELL FREEZES YOU NO LONGER REPRESENT YOUR PEOPLE ONLY YOUR WALLETS I WISH WE COULD FIRE YOU FOR FAILURE TO DO YOUR JOB

October 3, 2008 at 8:22 pm

Robert McCarter

My wife and I are very disappointed with the Congress for voting yes on this bailout. This is a very sad day and it breaks our hearts to see what is happening to our country. We have been very responsible with our own debts, not expecting anyone to bail us out. We have a small business in California for the last 24 years. The only way we have been able to stay in business for 24 years, was to trust the Lord to provide for us, not to borrow money and to understand that not all the money earned from our business was ours to use for only ourselves. It is ashamed that the taxpayers young & old now have to pay for the people we voted into office that have been helping themselves with our hard earned money.

October 3, 2008 at 9:00 pm

Patrick Julian

Thank you for giving us a list of the names of the people who voted and weather they were for or against the bill. If possible, I would like to see the same list by state so that I can decide which people I want representing me in the next election since a lot of them are obviously short sited and have no vision for getting out of debt which will help to put this country on the right financial path. I told my 4 kids while they were growing up that "You're either part of the problem or part of the solution, become part of the solution and you'll be glad you did the right thing and sleep much better at night, even though it may hurt temporarily", like following the Baby Steps that you mentioned in your book. Love your show and podcasts. Patrick Julian

October 3, 2008 at 9:10 pm

Kitty Wilson

I was very disappointed by the outcome of this bailout and that Maryland represenatives voted for this bill. Again, Congress did not represent what I wanted so I plan to vote against them in Nov.

October 3, 2008 at 10:04 pm

Jerry Rodgers

There is no more “We the People” I wiil not vote for my ARKANSAS Senators, Representative. If I could vote for the hold congress I vote no to them all. If thay want to give out money send me a 100,000 dollars. See you at the poll.

October 3, 2008 at 10:12 pm

My two representatives voted against this insanity and I am going to send them back. However I am now torn on what to do about my vote for president, both candidates were weak and voted for this foolishness. I think I am going to have to vote for Nader as a protest vote and besides Palin he is the only one who doen't have his hands dirty with this trash.

October 3, 2008 at 10:36 pm

Although this quote has been misattributed and discounted, its relevance is unquestionable: A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. -Alexander Fraser Tytler (1747–1813) In the case of a representative democracy such as the U.S., the voters are the members of the House and Senate. It is they who have proven the veracity of Tytler's statement. Apathetic citizens provide the rest of the story. Tell me, how long until the next great credit crisis, when our fearless leaders inform us that they need to extract another mountain of booty? The conventional wisdom puts the over/under at five years. We're toast. Ammo is the new currency, folks, and the only one that carries any clout in the maelstrom just over the horizon. God help us all.

October 3, 2008 at 10:41 pm

Keep the momentum going!! Spread the word to EVERYONE you know to vote NO on Nov 4th for all of the congressional idiots and the FAKERS (Dems who are afraid of not being re-elected) who voted Yea to this crap sandwich. We are overdue for REAL CHANGE - and I DON'T mean Osama 'NO-Bama' (yeah, you can keep the change Hussein). We need to dump all of the Washington insiders and vote in people who will truly honor our founding fathers and do the will of the PEOPLE!!!! Don't give up - Love your country and FIGHT FOR IT!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 11:45 pm

Kevin Finley

I hope we have some good opposition in November. I am disappointed with Mac Thornberry from Texas. Regaining the trust of west Texas will be difficult. But, Mac you are in good company. Our entire representation from Texas Showed the ability to ignore the will of the people ( at least in our district). You folks may have even lost the presidental election for this cycle with the action. I hope by the grace of God our country is able to weather this storm of fear and ignorance.

October 4, 2008 at 1:04 am

OMG... Believe it or not my representative actually voted NO!!! Maybe my last minute e-mail was actually read and taken into consideration. I have to give props to Tim Walz for standing up for what the American public wants.

October 4, 2008 at 4:47 am

Daron Wampler

My so called representative Brad Ellsworth voted yea, I will be voting nay for him. I would rather suffer through a deppression and be free, then continue down this path of government control. If I had wanted that I would have moved to a different country.

October 4, 2008 at 7:17 am

Fred Edmond

I would like to see which are coming up for election this year and which are not. My suspicion is that those not up for election this year voted for the bill, then once the bill was guaranteed to pass, those coming up for election this year could vote no to preserve their seat. I'm absolutely sure there was a deal made to get this bill passed primarily by those not up for election this year. Can Fox Business add the date each term expires to their names?

October 4, 2008 at 8:05 am

let's send a strong massage to the party of bankers and vote third party this election

October 4, 2008 at 8:18 am

I agree with Dave's plan, not the Fed's plan! I hate to see the govt. going into much more debt over this, right now over 20% of our taxes go to interest alone on the national DEBT! I hate to see whats going to happen when we cannot keep up with the interest! I we cut taxes we NEED to cut expenses NOT RAISE THEM! Why can't we have a balanced budget?? If a company was that far in the hole wouldn't they take some drastic actions to get things corrected, there is soo much crap that needs to be cut!!!

October 4, 2008 at 8:22 am

Ric Keller of Orlando voted No! Twice!! Good on you Ric! I just by my ballot in the mail with your name picked.

October 4, 2008 at 9:20 am

Both Georgia senators voted in favor of this sham...so I will not vote for them. I cannot bring myself to vote for liberal dems...so I will skip that portion of the ballot. My rep in the house, Mr Gingrey voted against the bailout...so I will vote for him...Thanks Gringrey...!!! What a sham...!!! There is plenty of credit for qualified applicants. I guess they want to wipe out the bad loans and start making more sub-prime loans and we will be right back here with more & more debt for the taxpayers. It cannot go on...and it won't...! Expect a total economic failure at some point when all this mess catches up.

October 4, 2008 at 9:55 am

Well the Colorado contingent was once again split down the middle with three (3) yeas (Degette, Perlmutter and Tancredo) guess who is getting a 'No' vote from me. The other half or four (4) votes where 'Nay' (Udall, Salazar, Musgrave and Lamborn) will be getting 'Yeas' or at least a considered effort to look into their policies if there are no good Independent candidates running. Folks it is time for us to take our country back, please, please go to www.bobbarr2008.com he was one of the first independent candidate to speak out against this travesty and still will once we get him into the White House. We now have seen what is going to happen and continue to happen. Washington rolled over and gave in, how soon until the Automobile industry comes hat in hand begging from Washington for more of our Money. Obama/Biden are not the answer, McCain/Palin are not the answer, we need new blood in Washington, we need more then just a new President and Vice President we need a new congress. Vote Third Party....

Just printed this page so I know which of my Arizona representatives WILL NOT be re-hired in the next election. Just sent Gaby an e-mail telling her she was fired! So exactly how is it it was a bad bill with 700 billion dollars and now it's a 'good' bill with an additional 110 billion in pork???? Sorry John McCain, in spite of a good VEEP pick my vote will have to go independant since you decided it was a good idea to stick your grubby paws into my bank account. BTW............notice the stick market??? Tracy

One additional thought. If the 90%+ of this country was against this voted for Bob Barr imagine the look on McCains and OBama's faces when the results were in. Bob, come out for the flat tax and lowering coperate tax rates to 10% and you could almost walk away with this election!
