My representative voted no against the bailout, I live in Iowa, and my representative is Steve King. I am VERY proud of his vote, because I am very ashamed that this congress allowed Wall St. to control it. It is like the tail wagging the dog, we should have let Wall St. clean up it's own mess. Now, mark my words, everytime Wall St. gets in trouble where will they go? The US Government. Time will tell, but I think it is a very sad day here in US.

We have a good credit rating which I am proud of. Together, we make $80,000 per year. We live within our means with regard to our mortage. We drive 6 and 9 year old GM cars, but did purchase a used 2006 Dodge truck to replace my 14 year old truck two years ago. I will drive it for 14 years. I would love a new Dodge or GM or Ford vehicle. But we have have two boys at Michigan State and our decision is that their future and tuition is more important that vehicles or a home we can not afford.
Not only am I paying my mortage, paying for my "new" used vehicle, two MSU tuition students, but now I am paying for those that made poor choices to purchase homes for which they could not afford. Not only that, another $155 billion dollars of unnecessary spending at a time when they call the economy in crisis.
Every two weeks, we and millions of other Americans pour our retirement funds into Wall Street. There is no loss of input into investing in my Country, the greatest on Earth.
How can anyone tell me that they will cut my taxes yet spend $850 Billion on a bailout bill for those who made poor financial decisions and those that profited millions from those bad decisions? How can they tell me they will cut my taxes yet create a universal health care monstronsity? My constitution does not "entitle" me to health care, abortion, paying my mortage or anything else paid for by the government. It provides me the opportunity to pursue what I can.

We need term limits--all this nonsense would stop. As usual, only the complainers post. I for one support this bill. It may not be great, but I'd like to see all you change your tune when the economy tanks and you can't get your loans for cars/schools/houses, etc. Everyone will be crying to the government saying 'How could you let this happen?!' I think the CEO's and liable parties should be held responsible for the greed that caused this crisis, and I am not thirlled about the bill, but again, it had to be done.
It is apparent that the British have taken America back! We have lost our rights as citizens. I fear having another Tea Party may not be enough this time. It may be time to consider calling back each State's Representatives by forming petitions to have them removed from office. I sense a coming revolution.

I wrote to my representative and senators this week and explained my positon regarding this bill. A no vote from them means a yes vote from me. My position stands, but the coup is a done deal and I believe “votes” are a moot point and may soon be passe as we know them. So this November may be our last chance.
Remember today. It represents the end of the United States of America and what it STOOD for. We sold out our country for cars, homes, college loans, and stocks and bonds. Not a shot was fired as Kruschev predicted so many years ago. Judas is alive and well in all of us and symbolically the “30 pieces of silver” — paid in full. May our ancestors and future generations forgive us.

We needed to do something to secure the markets, but I agree with the sentiments being expressed here. We continue to send these toads to Washington, they continue to waste and mismanage our money. We need to vote them out. We need to insist on term limits. We need to trim the federal bureaucracy and for added measure I would like to disqualify all lawyers from serving in Congress and the White House!

We need term limits--all this nonsense would stop. Voting certain ways in order to get voted in again--not for the best of the people, the country--just vote what's best for me and those who fill my pockets with other people's money. Personally I may never vote for any incumbant again--set my own term limits on them.

Oh, one more thing. My representative (Altmire) voted NO but I am sure he did so because he is in a tough re-election battle and the toads have heard the people's objection to this bill. Pelosi has let dems in tight races to vote NO. My point, if your rep is up for re-election and voted NO he/she is probably just trying to save his/her job. They got us here with their poor oversight of Fannie and Freddie and we should just fire them all!

As usual, only the complainers post. I for one support this bill. It may not be great, but I'd like to see all you change your tune when the economy tanks and you can't get your loans for cars/schools/houses, etc. Everyone will be crying to the government saying 'How could you let this happen?!' I think the CEO's and liable parties should be held responsible for the greed that caused this crisis, and I am not thirlled about the bill, but again, it had to be done.

It is apparent that the British have taken America back! We have lost our rights as citizens. I fear having another Tea Party may not be enough this time. It may be time to consider calling back each State's Representatives by forming petitions to have them removed from office. I sense a coming revolution. If someone with the proper knowledge could start a website with the proper procedures for petitioning a Re-call vote on all 435 representatives and 100 senators, that would excellent. To those of you who are proud of your representative or senator, your pride is misplaced. ALL 535 of them are snakes and should be removed from office.

My senators split and both got it wrong. Thune voted for it. Shame on him. Johnson voted against it. Why was he wrong - because he wanted MORE! Rep Herseth-Sandlin got it right. She listened to us.

My position stands, but the coup is a done deal and I believe “votes” are a moot point and may soon be passe as we know them. So this November may be our last chance. Remember today. It represents the end of the United States of America and what it STOOD for. We sold out our country for cars, homes, college loans, and stocks and bonds. Not a shot was fired as Kruschev predicted so many years ago. Judas is alive and well in all of us and symbolically the “30 pieces of silver” — paid in full. May our ancestors and future generations forgive us.
