FOX Business On Assignment

I will do everything in my power to get any idiot I can out of office that voted for this bill. If they vote yes today I will not vote for them. I will also do anything I can to get them out of office.

Standing Up

Is it just me or has the stock market actually done better when it looks like this bill will fail? I think if every true American bought one stock from one of the responsible businesses out there, the market would do great. I will vote to remove Senator Patty Murray,(D) from Washington State for voting Yes! My congressman Doc Hastings, (R) and one senator Maria Cantwell, (D) voted NO- They will continue to get my vote.

October 3, 2008 at 12:51 pm

Barney Frank is a conniving weasel! He is a prime example of why nothing ever gets done in Washington. We hired these guys to do a job and none of them can perfrom because the system is broken. We need to do away with the 2-party system. It is driving a wedge between and among Americans and it is creating an impasse in Washington that has led us down this path. If there were no "aisle" think about what could get accomplished? We need to stop the government from spending our tax dollars in areas that won't reap and benefits to the people. I don't want a balanced budget, I want to pay down the national debt. Our government is asking us to believe that, in this time of crisis, we need to go out and run up our nation's credit cards. Doesn't sound so wise to me. Do we really believe that the government could ever repay these debts, or the debts we already have? Especially considering all of the fat that keeps showing up in otherwise well intended bills causing their failure? They are my underqualified borrower right now and we should not give them the loan! Wall Street needs help. But this is not it. Wall Street failures lead to failures in all of our jobs. The connection is direct and measurable. But this bailout won't work as long as those who created the problem are charged with its management. How much of $850B will go straight into the pockets of people "managing" the process and how much will really make it to the markets?

I wrote my congressman, Chris Cannon, Utah 3rd District. He will not be returning to the House of Representatives because he refused to represent Utah and this summer he was ousted by a man most people didn't even consider a contender: Jason Chavez. Cannon lost 60-40% at both the convention and primary. My text follows. Letter to Chris Cannon October 3, 2008 The piper must be paid and you are in a unique position to make sure that what we pay today is more bearable that what we would lose tomorrow. I am not sure how to persuade a man who I understand voted yes on a similar bill to change his mind, but I am compelled to try. The longer that we put off the consequences of our overspending, the greater the suffering of those who will pay. I am willing to accept the fact that the economy will go through difficult times, it might be hard to find a job, pay my bills and provide for my family in a world where this bill is not passed. But I am convinced that passing this bill means that my children won't just have a hard time, they will find it impossible. There is not such thing as something for nothing; it is contrary to the laws of the universe. We as a country have been trying to finagle such a deal for far too long and the effects are starting to unravel. Please, for your family and for mine, represent the will of the people of this state and vote no on the "bailout" bill. Let me assure you, we as a people are strong enough now to recover from our mistakes. Let us begin the process by acknowledging our mistakes, suffering our penalty and moving forward with a conviction that our suffering will be nothing in comparison with our joy when this trial has passed. Respectfully,

If this isn't the proof the American Public needs then GOD BLESS US ALL. You wonder, America, why you can't seem to get out of the "middle-class" income. This my fellow Americans is why. What you are seeing take place right before your eyes is the 1% of America holding you down. These goofs are so scared to end up in the "middle-class" that they are willing to sell their souls to prevent it. And they want to get up to the mic and talk about retirement? We will never see retirement. And to top things off, they aren't even trying to hide it. They are robbing you in broad daylight. It IS time to take America back. I will go to my grave with this memory of helplessness.

October 3, 2008 at 12:51 pm

SHAME on my Texas Senators for voting for this pork infested bailout for fat cats. To my Texas Reps.: I'm watching you...

October 3, 2008 at 12:49 pm

I am watching the House now, and according to our Representatives we the people have changed our minds and are for the Bill? Really?? By the way, my wife and I are refinancing our house for about .5% less than we bought it for 18 months ago........ since we purchased the vacant lot next door. Our bank is loaning money. We bought a car 3 weeks ago too.

October 3, 2008 at 12:49 pm

If they vote yes, then HELL YA, I'm voting NO!!!!! Like someone else said, even if I HATE the other candidate, WE, as Americans, have to make a point that Congress cannot go against the opinion of the people (believing we are stupid and don't know anything).

October 3, 2008 at 12:48 pm

Kent - Co

I already will not vote for incumbent Democrats or Republicans. The two party system is broken. Until we get more parties involved, critical legislation will remain deadlocked in partisan politics.

October 3, 2008 at 12:48 pm

a yes vote gets my no vote, my wife and i have been responsible business owners for many years, we have have protected our business against potential financial turns. So we can do this as a small/micro business i expect much more from the financial giants and geniuses in other industries. These people want to eat their cake and everyone elses without an act of justice levied upon them. So the governments idea is to get all the responsible citizens to give up their cakes or to start making more, i say no, hell no and get the hell out of the way of productive people.

October 3, 2008 at 12:45 pm

There is no way I will vote for anyone who approves this bill. If it passes I will do my best to rally against my local congressman if they vote for it.

October 3, 2008 at 12:45 pm

Brad Bartell

I'm voting to clear the GA Senate rep's since they've all caved in and voted Y. The same for the GA rep's in the House if they go with Y.

October 3, 2008 at 12:43 pm

Ranger Don

I will not support the supporter of this package. I will also boycott wooden arrow manufacturers. Wooden arrow producer subsidies, how insane is that??? Thats the guy/gal I want made famous, whoever put that heaping helping of stupidity in this ridiculous package.

October 3, 2008 at 12:43 pm

Jared Bowring

I will NOT vote for anyone who voted for this bailout. I just can't believe this is happening. All they keep saying is "doing nothing is not an option". Well, you DON'T have to use taxpayer's money and do a bailout! It's funny they have not entertained the many, many other options out there. These greedy bums are getting richer off of this and that is why they vote for the bailout. I have lost more faith in our governmental system. These people were elected by the people to act for the people and they are NOT acting for the people.

October 3, 2008 at 12:42 pm

R Henderson

This is getting ridiculous. I have been watching CPAN and can see by what they are saying, and reading here what the voters are saying, that the two are in complete oppostition to one another. Who do they think they, the congress are? Do they or do they not represent us? So far it appears they do not. Congress is talking as though we have been in recession for months now and that the country is closing down. What is going on? Are they pocketing some of this money? Hmmmmmm.

October 3, 2008 at 12:42 pm

Both of our senators from GA voted yes. I voted for both of them in their last election. Unless their opponent's lastname is Bin Laden, they will not have my vote next time. Same goes for my representative.

October 3, 2008 at 12:41 pm

Charles Whitman

"Government by the people for the people and of the People" now reads "Government By the Republican Paty, for the Democratic Party and of the Elites." I defended this country for 23 years in military service only to see the elites who now run it are now emboldened enough to ingnor the voter who they feel are idiots, and self serve their own interests. The direction they are forcing us to go will evolve into a new Nation, USSA, United Socialists States of America. They all need to go NOW!

October 3, 2008 at 12:38 pm

Third party canditates are looking better all the time.

October 3, 2008 at 12:37 pm

Proud to be an American

I WILL NOT ONLY VOTE NO for my U.S. Senator up for re-election I WILL CAMPAIGN AGAINST HIS ELECTION! He had the gall to speak about what his children and grandchildren will inherit. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will inherit a LEGACY OF DEBT. I don't know how he sleeps at night! Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence? These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were educated men of means. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor. They gave you and me a free and independent America. The history books never told you a lot about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't fight just the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fougnt our own government!

October 3, 2008 at 12:36 pm

This legislation will not fix 15 years of dishonest business practice. It will only put a temporary patch on an inevitable crash. Why put our grandchildren in deeper debt. Let the market repair itself. Even if it’s hard. We must pass on this bill.

October 3, 2008 at 12:36 pm

If they vote yes, I vote out, any I am not talking baseball!!!!!!!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 12:34 pm

Kelly In Eastern Washington

If my Congress Woman votes yes, i will change my vote to her opponent. Which utterly disgusts me.

October 3, 2008 at 12:33 pm

Gail Mewes in San Diego

I have a small business and I can absolutely guarantee you that I will never see one red cent from the bailout. Instead, along with other low-to-middle-class Americans I will see my taxes increase drastically as a result of this fiasco. If congress really wants to help the hard-working Americans who don't suck the life's blood out of our nation, individual congressmen and women will fight, with their last breath, against any bill that ever again wastes our hard-earned money and resources on deadbeats and cheats. I will definitely vote against any politician who votes for this bailout bill!

October 3, 2008 at 12:32 pm

House of Representatives? Who are they representing? What I see is a House of Pirates! This is a frickin joke!

October 3, 2008 at 12:32 pm

Robert Fulton

If they vote yes I VOTE NO !!!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 12:31 pm

WashingtonFarmer

Anyone voting this in gets a "no" vote from me. I'm conservative, but I'm proud that one of our senators, Cantwell (D) from Washington voted "no". She'll get my vote next time around. I'll only vote for McCain because of Palin.

October 3, 2008 at 12:31 pm

Randal - KS

Thankfully I don't have to worry about my Congressman's vote on the bailout issue. He's weighed in that he will not support it in it's present form and there are less costly/risky solutions. If he would have voted "Yes", I would have to vote "NO" for him on November 4th.

October 3, 2008 at 12:31 pm

To make matters worse, I just heard on Fox that only "most" of the money will be going to bail out the morons in this country that caused this mess, but SOME OF THE MONEY WILL BE GOING TO BAIL OUT MORONS IN OTHER COUNTRIES WHOSE BANKS NEED BAILING OUT. How low will they go??? I've already notified my reps/senators that a yes on the bill is a not on the ballot. I also send a thank you to Sen. Allard, who voted no. I did send an email to McCain's campaign telling them I want my campaign donations back. As far as I can tell now, McCain is not different than B.O. when is comes to the economy and they will both drive our economy into the ground. No reply.

October 3, 2008 at 12:29 pm

If my congressmen/women vote for this bailout, I vote no on their reelection. This whole proceeding is a sham and disgusting, as was the Senate vote.

October 3, 2008 at 12:28 pm

Anyone who votes for this bill or any other government bailout should be in jail. Get rid of them all, set term limits and set their pay scale to the peoples approval rating of our government.

October 3, 2008 at 12:26 pm

They vote yes, I vote no! The save us from our own greed is getting ridiculous.

October 3, 2008 at 12:26 pm

Bob Hoppe

Of course I'll vote against any incumbant, after watching some of the comments by our representatives that this bill is flawed, why would you vote for it? I can remember back when we decided to put a tax on yachts cause the rich could afford to pay it; of cousre they could also afford to buy their yachts overseas and avoid the tax. It totally destroyed an American indusrty and cost us more in unemployment and lost tax revenues from the builders then it took in. Almost ten years later they finally realized their error but by then it was way to late. No bill is a lot better than a flawed one. I suggest they go back and work on drafting a bill that will actually do what needs to be done.

October 3, 2008 at 12:26 pm

Jack Strassner

I have been watching FOX Business all morning and listening to the comments from the congressmen. I am from Texas and just got done listening to Kevin Brady. HE just got done saying that he realizes that about eighty percent of his voters are against the Bailout, but he feels that he knows better what is in their best interest. Now, can you imagine how that is going to go over here at home? I just hope a lot of my fellow Texans got to hear that remark! I would hope that the majority of those idiots are voted out of office! THey seem to have this idea that THEY have this GOd given knowledge of finances that enables them to make these decisions for all of us! WHat is scaring me is the fact that we have "WASTES OF HUMAN FLESH" such as Nancy Pelosi, Barny Frank, and Harry Reid in these positions!! And we are to trust these totally incompetent idiots with our finacial future??? I DO'T THINK SO!!!! Doesn't anyone think it is time to start thinking about maybe TAKING THIS GOVERNMENT BACK????

October 3, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Vote them out and fast!

October 3, 2008 at 12:23 pm

Nick Goodman

I mean here we go again typical politics.......PORK, PORK, AND MORE PORK. I don't care if most of these pork issues were already "laws" this was neither the time nor place to be inserting them in to GAIN VOTES. Goodness you would think with a financial crisis like this everyone could sit down and actually come up with something to REFORM but obviously this bill isn't that great if they are have to entice people to vote for it by adding over 100 Billion dollars in PORK. This is my first presidential election, and I will vote NO for anyone from my district that votes yes on this bill whether or not it ends up helping the economy because it still shows they haven't learned their lesson of get off BIG POLITICS AND PORK and get something done to get it done not to get some incentive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 12:21 pm

Juanita Miller

I already spoke to Congressman Wolf's office and said that if he voted yes on this bill, I wouldn't vote for him in November. I even donated to his campaign!

October 3, 2008 at 12:20 pm

I agree with the CPA from Douglasville - this happen on their watch and they, Senators and Representatives had pleanty of warning from various sources. They should take their staff with them too!

October 3, 2008 at 12:20 pm

NO! Send them home.!

October 3, 2008 at 12:20 pm

Voting is already open in Ohio...Let's start kicking some people out!! Too bad you can't just get rid of the whole group at once and start over...or can we!!

October 3, 2008 at 12:20 pm

If they vote yes we will be broke like Russia. Let capitalism reign! I'll buy low and start over like a capitalist.

October 3, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Socialism is never a fix for Capitalism. If they vote for this I will try to send them home with full salary (It'll be a lot cheaper) to fish 24/7. They must promise never to return to Washington.

October 3, 2008 at 12:17 pm

If my congressmen vote yes, I will vote NO to their re-election!! I will also encourage others to do so.

October 3, 2008 at 12:15 pm

CPA Douglasville

It does not matter, they will or still need to be voted OUT becuase this crisis happended on their watch!!!!!!!!!!

October 3, 2008 at 12:14 pm

I second the motion j t. I will vote NO to anyone who votes Yes on this bill.

October 3, 2008 at 12:14 pm

I have been a McCain supporter since he won the nomination. However he will not be getting my vote after voting for this piece of junk. I doubt if Obama supporters who oppose this will have the testicular fortitude to vote no on Obama. I hope this country can survive 4 years of the messiah.

October 3, 2008 at 12:13 pm

I will absolutely vote no for my representative if he votes yes. There is a very clear majority of Americans who do not want this bill to go through. It is our representatives’ responsibility to either represent the will of their constituents or try and convince us otherwise. It is not their job to tell us we don't understand and then vote against us.

October 3, 2008 at 12:06 pm

If they vote yes, they will be losing their job. I will vote no if Connie Mack votes yes.

October 3, 2008 at 12:06 pm

Absolutely! If my Rep votes yes, I( and most of my fellow district members, I believe ) will vote him out. Though, he did vote no the first time and I think he will vote no again. The Republican half of my senatorial delegation did vote no, so thanks to Senator Allard! By the way, am I the only one who finds it highly ironic that the Democratics are the ones voting overwhelmingly for this hand out to big business? In the words of the C & C Music Factory, 'Things that make ya go hmmmm...'

October 3, 2008 at 12:05 pm

Yes, I will absolutely send packing any of my Senators or Representatives who vote for this reprehensible use of our money. If bailing out Wall Street is so important, why aren't individuals or companies already doing it? Why, because it takes the combined stupidity of Congress to throw that much money into such a money pit, knowing fully well that it doesn't guarantee to fix anything at all, except possibly assuring that we taxpayers won't have ANY discretionary spending for a very, very long time, and that the money we do have will be practically worthless.

October 3, 2008 at 12:03 pm

This is still a Bailout with too much cost and they even added some Pork in it-see pages 261 - 269 -- motorsport tracks, Rum, Wooden Arrows and much more--I will vote no to my representatives if they vote yes-
